Capital City Toastmasters Awards Day 2010

"There are two things people want more than sex and money...recognition and praise."  Mike Eaves opened our Annual Recognition Day meeting with this Mary Kay Ash quote.  Twenty-eight people were in attendance at today's meeting, which was packed with lots of recognition and praise for another great year at Capital City Toastmasters.

Mike
Trey Bason served as Master of the Ceremony and congratulated everyone for helping Capital City Toastmasters earn the President's Distinguished Club Award for the 6th year in a row and encouraged us to do it again!  He had us stand and give high-fives for a job well done!

It was no surprise that Brian Simpson received the award as Best Speaker 2009-2010 [he also won this award for 2008-2009].  Colleen Slaughter shared wonderful praise for Brian's abilities and left him speechless. (Pretty ironic, isn't it?)

Trey Bason inducted our officers for the upcoming year, and each pledged to fulfill his/her responsibilities as an officer of the club.

Thanks to Dean DiLillo for serving as timekeeper today. Guests in attendance were Dorsey, Tommy, Jon and Sreekant.  Dorsey announced that he is joining our club! Each of these four guests gave encouraging words and reminded us of the reasons we may have chosen to first attend Capital City Toastmasters.
